Hydraulic Double Pipe Chain Clamp

When a project moves beyond the range of standard cage and chain clamps — vessel-class diameters, oversized headers, or heavily out-of-round pipe — Technical Pipeline's Hydraulic Double Pipe Chain Clamp takes over. It combines the diameter flexibility of a chain clamp with a hybrid actuation system, letting crews align and reform the largest pipe and vessel sections with far less manual effort than a torque-wrench-operated system. Two chains wrap fully around the pipe or vessel, distributing clamping force across a series of jackbars whose number scales with model size — from 10 jackbars on the smallest model up to 66 on the largest — so that force stays evenly distributed even around the longest chain lengths. A hydraulic cylinder, operating at 200 bar, first brings the chain into coarse position around the pipe or vessel; a screw mechanism then makes the fine positioning adjustment, applying precise, consistent force to correct ovality, close Hi-Lo offsets, and bring both pipe ends into true coaxial alignment in a single setup. The range is available in fifteen standard models organized into three overlapping size tiers — a 36" base tier up to 72", a 60" base tier up to 132", and a 120" base tier up to 240" — together covering the full 36" to 240" (914-6096 mm) range. Recommended wall thickness across the range is 5-26 mm. The chain assembly and jackbars are zinc-plated and the main body carries a 60-micron powder coating, both resistant to damage from weld spatter during continuous outdoor reforming work. Because the clamp remains in place around the joint, tees, elbows, and flanges can be aligned and welded without removal, and the design accommodates stainless steel as well as carbon steel pipe and vessel walls.
