Cold Cutting Pipe Cutting Machine

When a flame or spark near the pipe isn't an option — live lines, hazardous atmospheres, or pipe that still contains flammable product — Technical Pipeline's Cold Cutting Pipe Cutting Machine provides a mechanical, heat-free alternative to gas or plasma cutting. The split-frame body clamps directly around the pipe, letting the machine cut the joint in place without altering the metallurgical properties of the base material. A split-frame ring mounts around the outside diameter of the pipe and drives a rotating tool holder around the circumference using a hydraulic-assisted manual mechanism, giving the operator strong, controlled cutting force without a separate power unit to run or maintain. The tool holder adjusts to cut a straight face or a bevel from 0° up to 45°, covering both simple cuts and full weld-prep bevels in the same setup. Smaller models run on a single engine, while models above 14" add a second engine and the largest sizes (above 26") use three, keeping cutting power matched to the increasing mass and diameter of the pipe. Four clamping shoes hold the machine securely on smaller diameters, with additional shoe pairs added on larger models — up to 4+8 shoes on the largest sizes — to keep the machine centered and stable as pipe diameter increases. The range is available in fifteen standard models covering 2" to 48" (50-1230 mm), each sized to a specific diameter band. Because the process is entirely mechanical, cold cutting produces no heat-affected zone, making it the preferred method for stainless steel, duplex, and other alloys where heat input must be tightly controlled.
