External Pipe Heating Torch

When internal access to the pipe isn't practical — or simply isn't needed — Technical Pipeline's External Heating Torch preheats the joint from outside, wrapping evenly around the pipe surface to bring the weld zone up to temperature without having to work from inside the bore. Because it doesn't need to fit inside the pipe, the external torch also covers a wider range down to smaller diameters than its internal counterpart. The torch positions around the outer circumference of the pipe at the joint, applying even, controlled flame across the full weld area so the preheat temperature is reached uniformly rather than through spot heating that can leave uneven thermal gradients across the joint. Because it operates entirely from outside the pipe, the external torch requires no internal access equipment and can be set up and removed quickly between joints, making it a practical choice for general fabrication and field welding where speed and simplicity matter. The number of burners scales with pipe size — from 3 burners on the smallest models up to 10 on the largest. The torch is available with manual or automatic ignition, across twenty-three standard models covering 10" to 60", with no gaps between sizes.
