Towing Head / Pulling Head

Between the winch line of the tow vessel and the pipe string itself sits a connection that has to carry sustained tension without damaging the pipe end. Technical Pipeline's Towing Head/Pulling Head clamps onto the pipe end and gives the tow line a dependable attachment point, spreading the pulling load into the pipe wall rather than concentrating it at a single stress point. A screw-actuated steel body with a rubber contact surface secures the head to the pipe end without damaging it, holding firm through the sustained tension of a long open-water tow. The head is available in twenty standard models covering 20" to 60" (508-1524 mm), matching the same size range as the rest of the marine pulling equipment line.
